Saturdays and Sundays are usually reserved for church, play, and rest. But since Mack and Cheese are homeschooled, Mom can start up a lesson at any moment.

“Mack! Cheese! Come into the schoolroom, please. Turn the TVs and tablets off.” yelled Mom.

Cheese ran in first, “Yes ma’am?!”

Mack wasn’t too far behind him.

Mom started, “Cheese since you came first, we will do your school work first.”

Mack complained, “Aww man! I thought we were done with school work for the week!”
“Not yet. Your Saturday morning cartoons just went off and before you really start your weekend, we are gonna get a little work done.” Mom replied and turned to Mack. “While I work with Cheese, you can read a bit.”

Cheese had pulled out his math flash cards and started going through them on his own. “4 plus 0 is 4; 10 minus 4 is 6; 6 plus 3 is 9; 8 plus 1 is 9. Hey Mom, how many more of these do I have to do until I am done?”

“None! I wanted to go over grammar with you today, not math.” Mom smiled.

Cheese sighed.
