“The weekend is here!” Mack shouted.

“Not so fast, son. It is only Thursday and we still have school work to finish before your ‘Weekend is here!’” announced Mom.

“But how much work though? We have done a whole week’s worth of education in the past 3 days. I think my brain is full.” said Mack.

“Lucky for you, I have been studying brains for several years. When I look at your head, I see space where I can pour into your brain. Watch! If the clock’s short hand is almost on the 12 and the long hand is a little past the 8, what time is it?” Mom asked.

Mack looked up at the clock on the wall and said, “That clock has stopped, Mom. It needs batteries.”

“I know what that clock needs, son. That clock is right two times a day. Now what time did the battery die?”

“Easy, 11:41.” answered Mack.

“That is correct. And what time would it be 30 minutes later?” Mom continued.

“Uhhhm. 12:11?” Mack replied.

“Is that a question or your answer?”

“That is my final answer, Mom” said Mack.

Mom smiled, “Correct again. Last question. If it takes 1 hour and 7 minutes for a tub of ice cream to melt, how much would it cost to buy a new tub of ice cream?”
