Mack looked out of his room’s windows and down to the front lawn. He thought to himself, “Aww man. The grass has finally gotten high. It won’t be long before Mom or Dad asks me to go cut it. I could use the money, BUT I’d rather stay inside and watch TV. It’s hot out there.”
Mack walked over to his bed and laid down.
Cheese stood at Mack’s door with a grin.
“Hey bro! What’s up?!” Mack asked.
“Ahh. Nothin much. I was downstairs with Mom and Dad. They were talking about cutting the grass. I thought that was your job. If you don’t want to do it, I will. Just let me know. I could use the money.” said Cheese.
Mack laughed, “I was just looking out the window and thinking the grass needs to be cut. Do you even know how to cut grass? Not just anyone can do it, you know.”
“I know that! I’ve watched you and Dad do it! Hey, do you remember when you ran over the water hose and it cut in half? Mom made you water the garden with a bucket until you saved enough money to buy a new hose.” Cheese reminded him.
Mack sighed, “Who could forget that? Water went everywhere! I didn’t see the GREEN hose in the GREEN grass. It took all summer for me to save enough money. This year will be different.”
