“Birthday cookies, Mom! Don’t they smell good?!” asked Cheese.

“They do smell good, son. But it’s 1:00 in the morning. Aren’t you sleepy? We sent you to your room, but you’re in the kitchen baking… breakfast cookies!” said Mom.

Cheese sighed, “OK, Mom. When the cookies finish baking, I’ll put them on the stove to cool. Then I will go to bed. Promise! They will be breakfast birthday cookies.”

“Make sure you clean up this mess before you go to bed.” Mom kissed Cheese on his forehead and disappeared upstairs.

Cheese finished up the two-dozen cookies, cleaned up, and went to bed. He woke up around 9:00 to the smell of bacon. Cheese washed up, got dressed, and went downstairs.

SURPRISE!” everyone yelled.

Mom, Dad, Mack, and Gary were seated at the table waiting for Cheese to take a seat.

“Happy birthday, son! Welcome to your surprise birthday breakfast. Your cookies are the featured item. They look good.” said Dad.

“Thank you guys for the breakfast! I think this is my first birthday breakfast ever! Pass the cookies please, I need an appetizer.” requested Cheese.

“Whatever you want today, it’s yours!” Mom said.
