Cheese loves to watch cooking and baking shows, mostly baking shows. One day, Cheese asked Mom if she had some piping tubes and fondant. What six year old knows about fondant?
“Dad!” Cheese yelled as Dad walks through the door. “Can we make some cookies?”
“Sure! Nana sent me a cookie recipe that I’ve always wanted to try. Get the stool and I’ll call out the ingredients.” Dad says as Cheese sprints across the kitchen to grab the stool.
“We’re going to need salt, sugar, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, baking soda, flour, and of course, butter!”
“Dad, get the bowls, measuring cups, mixer and spoons… don’t forget to preheat the oven!” Cheese commanded.
Dad and Cheese danced through the recipe headed to a culinary masterpiece.
“Dad, you don’t mix the batter like Mom does.” Cheese noticed.
“You’re right! I’m not Mom, so I do several things different than Mom. I do things better than Mom.” Dad bragged.
Cheese blended the ingredients together and spooned the batter onto the parchment paper. 10 minutes had passed and the cookies were done. Mom and Mack were playing cards while Dad and Cheese were in the kitchen.
“Bon apetite!” Cheese yelled to everyone… “Enjoy!” he continued.
“These are the best peanut butter and jelly cookies I ever did have.” Mack said.
“Why thank you!” said Cheese “I did it all by myself.”
